Advent 2026
On the 3rd & 4th December Choir2000 stages its Advent Concert
at Histon Baptist church
The seasonal programme will include:
Faure's Cantique,
excerpts from Bach's Christmas Oratorio,
Cecilia McDowall's A Winter's Night,
plus carols for audience and choir.
Accompanied by the Choir2000 orchestra
Summer 2026
In June 2026 Choir2000 returned to
West Rd Concert Hall, Cambridge.
We performed Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor
and Purcell's Come ye Sons of Art ,
with soloists Anna-Luise Wagner,
Jessica Lawrence Hares,
Alex Haigh and Thomas Niesser.
And the Choir2000 orchestra
Spring 2026
Golden Ages of English Choral Music.
On 27th and 28th March 2026 we performed a selection of music by 16/17th Century composers including Purcell, Tallis and Byrd, and by 19/20th Century composers including Elgar, Stanford and Parry.
The concerts were underpinned by a very informative audio-visual presentation covering the historical context of the works
Advent 2025
On 5th & 6th December we held our Advent concert featuring Handel's Messiah Part 1 interspersed with carols for choir and audience and a production of John Rutter's humorous
"The Reluctant Dragon".
We had sell-out audiences on both nights.
We also performed The Reluctant Dragon at Histon & Impington Park Primary School to two groups of 250 children !
It was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
On Sunday 29th June 2025 we presented a large-scale performance of the magnificent
Verdi Requiem
at West Rd Concert Hall, Cambridge.
In celebration of the Choir's 25th anniversary.
125 singers and 45 musicians combined with our soloists to make this a truly
magnificent event for a near sell-out audience.
