Singing in a choir....

Cheaper than therapy, healthier than drinking, and certainly more fun than working out.

... is good for your physical health

Singing exercises the lungs. It tones up intercostal muscles and the diaphragm.

its good for the heart and  tones facial muscles.

It can improve  sleep.
Its good for the  posture and mental alertness.
It can release  pain-relieving endorphins and boost the body's immune system.

... general well-being

Good for  self esteem and confidence, singing has been shown to enhance mood
and is useful in reducing stress.
It is spiritually uplifting and increases understanding and empathy between cultures
Encourages creativity
Promotes bonding
 

and is a very social activity

Singing brings people together and is a  forum for fun, laughter and support. Its a great way to make friends.
