Open Rehearsal of John Rutter's Magnificat
, conducted by
the composer
. This gave an insight into the workings of
the composer's mind, and made an appreciable difference to
the performance of the work that night.

John Rutter's 60th birthday
Dr Rutter, honorary president of Choir 2000, was
given
the Choir's present of a bound copy of his own "Magnificat".
The presentation was made on behalf of the Choir by
Grayston Burgess, Musical Director,
Beatrix Bown, Choir co-ordinator and Michael Pride, Chairman.

Open evening at Sue Kafka-Ellis's studio.
Members of Choir 2000 sang a selection of Madrigals and Partsongs at
choir member and local artist Sue Kafka-Ellis's Autumn Exhibition
Open Evening on 18th November 2005 at her
studio in Cottenham.

Stainer's Crucifixion
in St Andrew's Church, Histon, conducted by Grayston Burgess
with Phillip Tolley (tenor) Ron Horgan (Bass) Matthew Nall (Organist)
and members of Choir 2000.
- April 30th:
Members of Choir 2000 accompanied by David Warham performed music by Handel, Verdi and Orff
in the Grand Marquee as part of a Village celebration
of Music and Dance to celebrate the opening of the new
Sports Centre on Histon Recreation ground.

Members of Choir 2000 assisted at "Music Roundabout", a day of music-making for families and individuals
presented by four Cambridge amateur music groups -
the Cambridge orchestra,
the City of Cambridge Brass band,
the Cambridge Music Circle
and Choir 2000. Choir members

Mozart's Ave verum corpus
as one of the workshops offered.

A group from Choir 2000 provided the musical
entertainment to accompany the cream teas
on the vicarage lawn at the opening event of the
Histon Feast week.

Bishop, Elgar and Finzi to an evening of "Eight Centuries of English Music" for the
Cambridge Music Circle.

Members of Choir 2000, directed by Peter Britton, performed
a selection of music from the 17th and 20th Centuries for the
Mackenzie Society at one of their musical evenings.

On March 9th, Choir 2000 performed in the Area Selection Stage
of the 2008 Radio 3
"Choir of the Year Competition", at
Warwick Arts Centre .
Although we didn't make it to the next round, it was a great day out, with fine
singing from all the other choirs, and 2 inspirational workshops led by
Ken Burton

Members of Choir 2000 contributed John Rutter's "Sprig of Thyme"
as musical entertainment for the
Histon Feast 2008.
